GCC Conditioner - Mailbox Peak - New Trail

This is a GCC conditioner with preference given to GCC students.

Those registered as GCC students may sign up now IF THEY HAVE NOT ALREADY SIGNED UP FOR ANOTHER MARCH CONDITIONER.

Non-GCC students and GCC students seeking to complete a second March conditioner may sign up 2 days prior if spaces are still open.

This is a 9.4 mile hike with an elevation gain of 4,000 feet. Our goal is to begin hiking around 8 a.m. and return to our cars by 3 p.m. We may well be earlier than that, depending on the strength of the group, but you should not plan on being back to the Seattle area before 3 or 4 p.m. at the earliest.

Please meet at the North Bend Safeway at 7:30 a.m. sharp. Please do not go to trailhead, we will be doing sign in at Safeway to be counted for attendance.

We will arrange carpools to the TH and will need at least one and probably two more folks with Discovery parking passes who are willing to drive others to the TH.

Bring your 10 essentials, boots & traction devices. Make sure you have plenty of snacks and water, and a good lunch. Also make sure to have dry clothing and plenty of layers and rain gear. You will really enjoy a sit pad during the rest stop. And trekking poles are an excellent idea for the descent.

Directions to Safeway:

Going east on I-90, take Exit 31, go into the traffic circle and left, under the freeway. Turn right on SW Mount Si Blvd., the first right turn you can make. Follow the road around to the Safeway, which will be on your left.
