This being the first Thursday in Daylight Saving Time (DST) 2025, the OSAT-AA Tiger Mountain meeting will resume.  This follows as 34 year tradition of beginning the Thursday meeting on the first Thursday in DST.

This meeting began as a conditioner for folks interested in participating in the "1991 AA Mt. Rainier Expedition".  DST didn't begin until April in 1991, and Jim Hinkhouse's newsletter to potential members of that "expedition" said "Since there is so much interest in the Thursday night conditioning hike, it has been suggested that we turn this into a regular meeting."  

Thus, on April 11, 1991, the first OSAT-AA meeting took place.   At the April 10th 2025 meeting we will be celebrating the 34th birthday of the meeting.  Since DST now begins a month earlier, the meeting beginning now sometimes suffers lower participation prior to the birthday meeting, so please consider joining your fellow OSATers beginning with this meeting.  It's a fun way for new students to get a midweek conditioner in and test out your gear for night hiking. 

We will cook brats at the meeting area. Bring any snacks you'd like to share. 

Don't forget to park on the entry road, not in the parking lot, as the gate may be closed when you return! However they're pretty good about not locking us in. And bring your headlamp; in spite of "springing forward", the sun will set about 15 minutes after the meeting starts. Also have a buddy system when hiking at night just to be safe.
