MT. TENERIFFE GCC CONDITIONER
SATURDAY MARCH 15

It's not just going to be teriffic, its going to be TENERIFFIC!! We're going to hike to the top of Mt. Teneriffe and hope its sunny. Sometimes it is and the views are awersome, but sometimes it isn't. Probably not tomorrow since its going to snow. Either way it will be super fun! Let's goooooooooo!
At 4,738 feet, the summit of Mount Teneriffe offers great views of the surrounding peaks such as Mount Si, Dixie Peak and Green Mountain. This hike begins on the Mount Teneriffe Trail as a gentle climb through coastal rainforest. We get to see a lovely waterfall. So pretty and funnnn. Then it gets steepy and turns into a more challenging hike - follows a ridgeline. Super fun!. The trail gains elevation quickly. Steeper at the top. Trudge Trudge Trudge the road to happy destiny.
SNOW IN EFFECT!!! Must bring your waterproof boots, shell, puffy jacket (summit layer), rain pants, gaiters, and MICROSPIKES. These are required. We recommend poles as they're handy in the steep. 10 essentials are a must! Pack weight 30# at the start.
Also, bring a dry base layer shirt to change into at the top. Since this is a longer hike, bring some extra snacks for instructors and your team, this makes great weight for the pack. Or cupcakes for the end. Yah those are always great.
PLEASE ARRIVE BETWEEN 7-7:15 AM AND BE READY TO HIKE AT 7:30! BE EARLY! IF YOU'RE NOT EARLY...YOU'RE LATE!
We leave promptly and don't wait around. We'll need to weigh packs before we go. Cell service in the parking lot is spotty too.
This conditioner is open FIRST to GCC Students that have NOT YET completed a March GCC conditioner. Other GCC Students or Instructors are welcome to register within 48 hours prior to the hike if spots are available. #AlwaysBeConditioning
